Me so excited. Meme So exicttted. Holy God, I can't even type. My great Aunt is 91, and she never had any kids. I'm the only female great-neice that she has, and she definitely prefers me to the others. The last time I went up to visit her, she and I planned out a trip. She said when she was in her 20s, she went all around Europe, and that was the best time of her life. She told me how much she learned and how it affected her, and she promised that she wanted the same for me. It'll be my graduation present. We went to the travel agent that she used to use, and here's what we got:
June 4: Graduation - It's a Saturday evening.
June 5: Make sure everything's packed; drive up to Chicago, IL
June 6-8: Plane to New York, NY. Do some touring of the big city.
June 9-14: Arrive in London, England. See the major tourist things and experience the city as an American should.
June 15-18: Tour all around Ireland.
June 19-29: Plane to Paris, France. Spend a few days touring Paris, then the rest of the week touring the country.
June 30-July 5: Plane to Florence, Italy. Two days in Florence, then one day in Milan and three days in Rome.
July 6-10: Plane to Germany.
July 11-16: Plane to Spain.
July 17-31: Back to England. This time, I'll be spending my time trying to experience the less touristy-attractions. See what it's like to live there for real; experience the same things as every-day English folk do.
August 1: Back to NYC. To avoid ridiculous jetlag and culture shock, I'll relax here for a day.
August 2: Back to Springfield, IL.
Late August/September: ...College.
We talked with the agent about maybe, if I'm not dead, I could think about spending less time in England. He thought maybe instead of two weeks at the end, I could cut it down to one and visit another place. His thoughts were Australia, Canada, India, Greece, or Poland. I'm game for everything but Canada... Too similar to home. But let me know your thoughts! I'm excited!
